Tip of the Week - Energy Efficient Fields
It’s officially fall, which means winter is not too far behind. “What are some of the energy-efficient features available in homes today?,” is a question you may be increasingly likely to be asked. Since 2013, NorthstarMLS has had energy efficiency fields, such as Green Certification and HERS Score. But did you know there are also several energy-efficient features in the MLS that might grab the interest of your “Green” buyers?You just need to manually add the proper Additional Field to your search. Here’s an example of some fields you might find, along with the current number of active listings in the MLS for each one.Active Listings with Energy-Efficient Features in the MLSHeat: Geothermal – 144A/C: Geothermal – 82Fuel: Solar – 24Parking Characteristics: Insulated Garages – 4,334Amenities-Unit: Skylight – 1,454Amenities-Unit: Ceiling Fan – 9,596Amenities-Unit: In-ground Sprinkler – 4,797Green Certification: Certified – 84Green Certification: Pending – 32Green Certification: Tested – 23HERS Score – 91Note: Near the bottom left of the Search page, you will see “Additional Fields” with the option to Add or Remove from a list them. Click on the “Add/Remove” to view a list of “Available Fields.” (You will not see the option to remove a field unless you have already added a new field.)
