Tip of the Week – Auto Emails with NorthstarMLS Mobile App

This tip is for the NorthstarMLS Mobile App (powered by Homespotter).

Did you know that you can access the auto-emails you create for your clients on the web in the NorthstarMLS app? Log into the NorthstarMLS app and select My Contacts. Scroll through your contacts to find the client whose auto email you’d like to view.

From there you’ll see options for their auto emails, any listings you’ve put in your cart associated with their name and any listings they’ve marked as favorites or possibilities. Select any of the options to see a map or list view of your clients listing details.

(Click on the picture above to view a larger version of it in a new window.)

NorthstarMLS offers three mobile application solutions that ALL NorthstarMLS users have access to with their MLS subscription – NorthstarMLS Mobile (powered by HomeSpotter, formerly Mobile Realty Apps), Homesnap Pro and Matrix Mobile.

Improved Mobile App Interface!

The NorthstarMLS Mobile App has been updated for both iOS and Android. The vendor has updated the user interface and added a couple of new features.

Updates include:

  • App opens in map view so that you can go immediately to browsing properties;
  • View a single property only (no surrounding listings) with the new “Filter By” button;
  • To narrow down to only some of the properties on your screen, use your finger to draw a shape around them;
  • Fly-out menu and search screen with a simple tap.

Watch our 3-minute video for a quick demo. Watch for the update notification on your iPhone or Android. Or if you have never used the NorthstarMLS mobile app, download it now in the iTunes app store for iPhone or the Google Play app store for Android.

Are you ready for a faster version of the NorthstarMLS Mobile App? Our vendor, Mobile Realty Apps has been hard at work making sure the initial app launch and browsing experience is as fast as possible, as well as other enhancements. The updated NorthstarMLS app (Version 2.1) for iPhone is now available from the iTunes App Store.

If you already have the app on your phone, you can download the update from the “Updates” section of the iTunes App Store. To download the app for the first time, search “NorthstarMLS” in the iTunes App Store and download it to your device.

“This improvement is the result of months of engineering effort. A continued theme for 2014 will be continued significant improvements to speed and usability,” said Aaron Kardell of Mobile Realty Apps.

The NorthstarMLS App for iPads has also been updated with a completely redesigned interface. We will post a video preview here on the Matrix News Screen soon. Note: The vendor is working on an update for Android supported smartphones & tablets. We will make an announcement when that is released.

New features to the NorthstarMLS iPhone App based on your feedback and requests:

  • Faster app load time
  • Add/update Contacts
  • Add/update Carts
  • Access to more than one photo via emailed link
  • Only show Active Contacts
  • All Saved Searches in one place (regardless of whether assigned to Contact)

NorthstarMLS is proud to announce that we are the first MLS to feature HomeSpotter in our NorthstarMLS for Smartphones application.  HomeSpotter is a new feature that shows you MLS listings simply by aiming your iPhone or iPad at homes or condo buildings.  Currently available for iPhone and iPad only, it is also coming for Android devices in the next couple months.

HomeSpotter overlays property information on your iPhone or iPad live camera feed. As you point your iPhone/iPad down the street, you see a view of the street and info on all the houses for sale pops up. There’s even a radar display that shows the direction and proximity of nearby properties for sale.

For more information, view the quick video from MobileRealtyApps.com and read the press release and the Star Tribune Blog.

Also new with this Update: My Listings and Agent Roster

  • Select My Listings from the main menu to view all listings for which you are the List or Co-List Agent.
  • Select Agent Roster to search for contact information on other Active NorthstarMLS subscribers.
  • The My Listings and Agent Roster update is also available to Android device users and coming later for BlackBerry.

To update to the new version, use your iPhone or iPad to go to Apple’s App Store and then to the Updates section.  Android users will find the update in the Android market.
