Tip of the Week
Safari – Location Services Request
Do you use Safari as your preferred web browser for your Mac? (It’s currently the third most used browser among NorthstarMLS subscribers.) If you’re on a Mac and using Safari, then you’ve likely been prompted for Location Services. Location Services allows applications and websites to gather and use information based on the current location of your computer. You can allow Location Services to detect your location for 24 hours, but then you’ll be prompted again the next day and it can be annoying.
Fortunately, there is a quick and easy way around being prompted daily:
- With Safari running, choose Preferences from the Safari menu.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- In the “Limit website access to location services” section, select “Prompt for each website one time only” – as seen in the screen shot below.
Note: Currently, we are not aware of remedy for the iPad/iPhone version of the Safari web browser.
