Effective today, all Authentisign users (both NorthstarMLS subscribers and their clients), will be required to check a simple checkbox labeled “I’m not a robot” before each Authentisign document they open to sign. You will likely recognize this from other web applications as it has become a very common and effective strategy to increase security and ensure the app is dealing with an actual user.

Instanet has put this checkbox in place to resolve a long-running issue for many users and their clients (especially those on Microsoft Office 365 and MSN email) that was causing very slow performance or inability to execute an e-signature.

All you (or your client) need to do is click (or tap) the check box to confirm “I’m not a robot”. Once you’ve checked the box, you’ll be taken to the same signing page as you’re used to seeing.

WARNING: Be on the lookout for spoofed (fake) Authentisign final document emails that may include links to a bad URL.

Use the following tips to help you and your clients identify REAL Authentisign Final Document emails. 

  • If an Authentisign final document email  doesn’t seem legitimate, or you were not expecting this email do not open the links provided. Contact the sender immediately if you have any doubts
  • Be aware of the “from” email address: Authentisign emails will always come from secure@authentisign.com
  • Be aware of the “from” domain (Should always be @authentisign.com); some scams use a domain with very similar spelling. Also check for spelling/grammar mistakes.
  • All links should point to https://app.authentisign.com. You can check this by hovering your mouse over the link to see where it leads.
  • Authentisign will never ask you for any personal information; DO NOT provide your login information or passwords.

Below are some interesting statistical nuggets on a couple of NorthstarMLS Core Services that we pulled on NorthstarMLS subscribers.

Authentisign
So far in 2016, over 9,000 consumers/users have signed 266,622 documents. NOTE:  In 2015, Authentisign was used by 10,675 consumers to sign 613,619 documents.

ShowingTime
Since ShowingTime was launched on NorthstarMLS over a month ago (May 3), NorthstarMLS subscribers have scheduled 194,636 showings for their clients. ShowingTime has its own mobile app for phones and tablets — 4,219 agents and 4,804 clients have installed the ShowingTime mobile app.
